I was receiving this error after an upgrade of iTunes to version 10.5.0.142. This error always popped up after the boot process of my Windows 7 (64bit) machine.
I had to Google some pages, but finally, I came to this solution: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15723230#15723230.

You need to copy:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\SQLite3.dll

... to ...
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SQLite3.dll

Yellow background in Windows Photo Gallery

Posted in

When displaying and viewing photos in Windows Photo Gallery, my Samsung Syncmaster display has a strange problem in which the images will be shown with a orange or yellowish tinge in photos’ background, affecting the display natural color of pictures to become something like Sepia effect.

The symptom is likely to occur after update of incompatible monitor driver, especially on Samsung LCD flat panel monitor driver update via Windows Update. The cause for the error is the usage of incorrect color profile for the monitor in Color Management setting.

To solve the problem and restore normal colors in Windows Photo Gallery, you can try the resolution below:

  • Start -> Color Management
  • You will need to select (tick) Use my settings for this device to be able to remove, change or set new color profiles.
  • Try to change the default color profile for your system’s monitor to sRGB IEC61966-2.1, simply by clicking on Add, and then select sRGB IEC61966-2.1 from the list of profiles installed on system. After adding, click Set as Default Profile button.
  • Exit from all dialogs and reboot your computer, and the color problem on Windows Photo Gallery is fixed.

Failure to install SP1 on Windows 7 Professional: 0x800F0A12

I came across this problem today. This link guided me to the solution: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/windows-7-windows-server-200...

If you receive error "0x800F0A12" when trying to install Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2, it means the SP1 installer can’t access the Windows system partition (sometimes called a volume) of your computer’s hard disk to update files.

Follow the instructions below to get more information about the error. Then, expand the section in this topic that corresponds to the message you receive and follow the instructions.

  • Click the Start button , and in the search box, type command prompt.
  • In the list of results, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  • Type bcdedit, and then press Enter.

I was receiving this error:
Error reads "The boot configuration data store could not be opened. The system cannot find the file specified."

Following the correct instructions, made me fix the update problem of SP1! Great support by Microsoft!

Adding DYMO LabelWriter 400 as network printer on DYMO Label 8.3

Posted in

So, we have been using the LabelWriter 400 for a long time as network printer in combination of DYMO Label 7.6. But as of version 8.3, we were not able to connect to the network printer. When I installed the latest version, it never asked me where my network printer was (it asked me in the 7.6 version!).

When I started the DYMO Label software, I was getting this error:

This program requires a Dymo Printer. Please reinstall your printer driver.

After clicking OK, the program immediately shutted down, so I was not able to configure a network printer.

The trick is ...

  • browse to the computer which has the LabelWriter shared using Windows Explorer. It's very important to use the Netbios name. Don't use the IP as this will not work! E.g.: \\192.168.1.2\DYMO will not work -- \\SERVER\DYMO will work
  • find your DYMO printer in the list
  • right click on it, and select Connect...
